Skip the Phone Case — Apple's New Purple iPhone 12 Is the Ultimate Spring Accessory
During its Spring Loaded event on April 20, Apple announced an upgraded iPad Pro, a redesigned iMac, a new AirTag to keep track of lost items, and a new iPhone color: purple! Whether you see it as amethyst, lavender, or periwinkle, the sleek new shade is mesmerizing and adds a missing piece to Apple's iPhone rainbow, which already includes phones in ocean blue, mint green, black, white, and vibrant red. In addition to being incredibly aesthetically pleasing, the new purple phone — available in iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini designs — will feature a more durable Ceramic Shield Front Cover, an A14 Bionic processor chip (aka the fastest of any smartphone), and dual cameras with edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays and OLED to improve brightness.
The new lilac phone will be available for pre-order beginning April 23 and should start arriving around April 30, so we will be placing our orders ASAP. Of course, an iPhone without a case is risky business, so Apple also released a new MagSafe Leather Case and Leather Sleeve in Deep Violet, a leather wallet in Arizona, and a a Silicone Case in Capri Blue, Pistachio, Cantaloupe, and Amethyst. Twitter users have already compared the phone to a Gameboy Color, but we think it's the perfect shade to match Olivia Rodrigo's new Sour album. Take a closer look at the purple iPhone ahead to decide for yourself exactly what to call this stunning new shade.
