passed away suddenly today after suffering cardiac arrest at his LA home. He was only 50 years old, but the impression that he left on pop music will last forever. It's impossible to recount every memorable moment, every milestone through his incredible career, but here is a look back on some lasting images. MJ will be missed and his legend will live on forever.

Let's remember him for his immense talent
1IT was reported just a few weeks ago that he was very ill. He and his managers said he was in great shape and was getting ready to tour again. I guess the person who reported it knew what he was talking about.

9I remember the day the "thriller" video was shown, I was like 3 and was already listening to him...my mom told me the video would scare me and I still wanted to watch....I cried and was terrified of him for a while lol....regardless of what's true or not, he was frickin Michael Jackson....he's a legend and will be sooo missed

Not necessarily. He was out and about a few weeks ago, he is reported to have collapsed today after a Demerol self-injection. He may very well have been relatively healthy but given himself too much.

34I am a huge MIchael Jackson fan. He is probably my favorite artist of all time (and in my opinion the best dancer to have walked on this planet). I'm shocked at his sudden death. It's unreal to me.

41It is amazing to see this out pouring of grief. When he was alive all he got was derides and insults. We americans treat our legends badly. We are doing the same to the one and only Tom Cruise. please stop insulting the legends and heros.
42Sadness. RIP MJ, he was a musical and dance icon. In all my years of dance , there was always a michael jackson routine or dance that we just had to do. This is out of the blue, will definitely miss his contribution to the entertainment world.
43I think everyone has an MJ song that they felt was theirs - true icon, man.
For me, he was a legend and will always be. He was the ultimate entertainer and his music will live on. Not many artists can say the same. This is a huge deal for us his fans. God bless his family and friends. You were loved the world over....Rip Michael....OUR LEGEND
