Alexander Skarsgard Plays Dad For the Night Alongside Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore and Alexander Skarsgard looked like one happy family when they premiered their new film, What Maisie Knew, in NYC last night alongside their young costar Onata Aprile. In the film, which is based on the novel by Henry James, Julianne and Alexander play husband and wife, but their relationship quickly goes sour as Julianne's rock-chick character begins to pawn off her daughter on Alexander and her ex-husband's new wife. Small-screen stars like Girls' Zosia Mamet and Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also dropped by the screening to show support for their fellow HBO star Alexander.
What Maisie Knew isn't the only project that Julianne has been busy promoting. She premiered her new film The English Teacher at the Tribeca Film Festival in April — check out our interview with Julianne Moore and her costar Michael Angarano from the festival!

Coachella's Neon Carnival Draws Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Skarsgard, and Even Clint Eastwood!
Last night's A/X Armani ExchangeNeon Carnival at Coachella brought the stars out for a night out in the desert. The carnival-themed event, held at an airport hangar, lasted early into the morning. During the festivities, Julianne Hough, Alex Pettyfer, and Ed Westwick took turns throwing darts, while Emma Roberts hopped on the giant slide. Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend, Austin Butler, also took advantage of the rides and took a spin on the bumper cars, while Alexander Skarsgard was spotted making the rounds solo. One unexpected guest at the bash was Clint Eastwood, who played carnival games, sipped beer, and stopped to take some photos with fans.

Alexander Skarsgard Reveals He Dropped Out of School For a Girl
Alexander Skarsgard stopped by Live With Kelly and Michael today to reveal that long before he was making women swoon with his role on True Blood, he was pining for someone else's affection. Fresh off the premiere of Disconnect, he explained that he had moved to NYC to attend college but things got difficult when he met a woman before he packed up for school. He said, "New York is a wonderful city but it's really hard if you're in love with someone 5,000 miles away." Alexander dropped out after one semester to return to his home in Stockholm and reconnect with the girl, but things didn't go as planned. Check out Alexander's interview above.
Alexander Skarsgard Suits Up to Screen Disconnect in the Big Apple
Alexander Skarsgard was joined by his stylish costars at a screening for Disconnect in NYC last night. He wore a Calvin Klein suit as he posed for photos with a Gucci-clad Paula Patton and the beautiful Andrea Riseborough in a Proenza Schouler frock. Elizabeth Olsen and Winona Ryder also dropped by the screening, the latter of which cuddled up with director Henry Alex Rubin on the red carpet. The film, which opens on Friday, April 12, follows a group of unrelated characters who are all connected through their dependency on technology. Disconnect's trailer, which was released in March, earned a bit of buzz for Jason Bateman's turn in a dramatic role.
Alexander will have a full schedule as he heads into Summer. He has the premiere of What Maisie Knew, his new film costarring Julianne Moore, to look forward to in the Spring, as well as the return of True Blood on June 16. If you can't wait until Summer for more Alexander, check out the True Blood season six trailer that was released last week.
True Blood Season Six Teaser: Bloody Bill's Baaaaack!
Has your weekend been devoid of bloody, naked vampires? Well, then I've got a treat for you! True Blood's sixth season kicks off on June 16, and we've got the first teaser right here. So what can we glean from 30 seconds of footage? It looks like Eric and Sookie are banding together against Bill, who is on a rampage as the new Lilith and putting pretty much everyone in danger. Pam's literally got a target on her chest, there's a creepy man with bad teeth and a hat, and Lafayette has a gun. Rest assured, though: Alcide is here, and he's prepared to take off his shirt for you.

What Maisie Knew Trailer: Julianne Moore Fake-Marries Alexander Skarsgard
Get ready to tear up at the trailer for What Maisie Knew, starring Alexander Skarsgard as a modern-day knight in shining armor. His character, Lincoln, agrees to marry Susanna (Julianne Moore) when she's caught in a brutal custody battle with her ex (Steve Coogan) over their daughter, Maisie (Onata Aprile). Given that her ex-husband has taken up with their nanny, Susanna knows having a significant other will put her a leg up in the eyes of the court. It appears nobody anticipates how well the little girl and the bartender would get along, or that Maisie would prefer Lincoln to either of her parents.
I may be crying a little, but the preview still leaves out some key details, like how Susanna even knows Lincoln in the first place, or why he goes along with her plan. Regardless, I still want to see the film, if not just because this little girl looks like she's got some real acting chops. The movie doesn't have a release date yet, but you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Disconnect Trailer: Jason Bateman and Alexander Skarsgard Discover the Perils of Technology
Those used to seeing Jason Bateman in comedy roles might be surprised by the trailer for upcoming dramatic thriller Disconnect. Bateman, Alexander Skarsgard, Paula Patton, and Max Thieriot play seemingly unrelated citizens who share one commonality: a dependency on technology. Though the Internet is meant to bring people closer, these people find their lives unraveling as a result of technology addiction. Eventually, their lives collide. Think Traffic, but with Facebook instead of heroin.
This trailer is a lot more intense than I anticipated, and I'm sufficiently intrigued. I'm afraid for everyone in this movie, even the kid who's cyberbullying other kids. I'll be curious to see how it all comes together in the end, but I'm thinking it can't be a happy finish. The movie will be released on April 12, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
Alexander Skarsgard Grabs a Bite With Pal Jack McBrayer
Alexander Skarsgard and Jack McBrayer picked up lunch together at The Oaks Gourmet in Los Angeles on Friday. Although their celebrity friendship might surprise a few fans, the two have actually been pals for some time — Jack even attended the True Blood premiere party with Alex last May. Now that 30 Rock is over, Jack will have a lot more time to hang out with his buddies, but the same can't be said for Alex, who will begin filming the sixth season of True Blood soon. Alex also has the release of his new film, The East, coming up later this year after the movie premiered to critics at the Sundance Film Festival last month.
