A very pregnant Penélope Cruz was all smiles when she visited her sister, Monica Cruz, at a hospital in Madrid after Monica gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. Penélope was joined by her husband, Javier Bardem, and brother, Eduardo Cruz, as they all piled into a taxi to leave the hospital. Eduardo made a reference to the good news when he posted a photo on his Twitter account that read "Viva La Vida" yesterday.

Monica made headlines back in January when she announced that she had gotten pregnant through an anonymous sperm donor and was planning on raising her baby as a single mother. She announced the news in a blog post for El País, saying, "I'm going to be a mom! I have achieved the dream of my lifetime." Shortly after Monica's news, Penélope and Javier confirmed that they were expecting their second child in February.

Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz took in the sights of their hometown, Madrid, on Saturday afternoon. Penélope and Javier took a walk through a park and afterward stopped for a drink. It's an exciting time for Javier, Penélope, and their family — her sister Monica Cruz announced her pregnancy. Monica wrote a blog for the newspaper El Pais about her decision to have a child through artificial insemination.

Both Penélope and Javier have skipped out on award season so far despite Javier's Skyfall being nominated for — and ultimately winning — best action film at last week's Critics' Choice Awards. Javier was also recognized with an individual acting nod at the Golden Globes but opted out of attending. We'll see if Javier decides to attend next month's BAFTAs, which are slightly closer to Spain in London. The film is up for eight BAFTAs, including individual honors for both Javier and his costar Judi Dench.

Penélope Cruz missed out on the celebration, though Javier got plenty of praise from fans and peers while accepting the prestigious honor. The Oscar-winning actor plays Bond's nemesis Raoul Silva in the latest 007 flick, out today nationwide, though it was Javier's real-life friendship with Daniel Craig that landed him the role. Daniel and Javier crossed paths during a Haiti fundraising event in 2010, and the rest is history. It appears Daniel and Javier's onscreen rivalry is a hit with moviegoers, as Skyfall is on track to take home the top spot at the box office this weekend and has already broken records around the globe.

While Monica is not in the movie, she was out to support her brother-in-law, Javier, in their native Spain. Daniel and Javier have been promoting their latest Bond movie overseas and will be bringing it stateside next week. Skyfall is getting incredible early buzz, with many already calling it Daniel's best Bond film yet. Javier's wife, Penélope, and their son, Leo, have been making some of the stops with Dad when she has breaks from shooting The Counselor and debuting her other project Twice Born. Daniel's wife, Rachel Weisz, has also come along for the Skyfall excitement, including the big London stop where she got to meet the royals, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Javier Bardem teamed up with his Skyfall costars Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, and director Sam Mendes for a photocall in Madrid earlier today. The cast's been all over Europe in recent days, making stops in the UK, France, Italy, and now Spain. Javier and Daniel dressed down in casual attire this morning, but during last week's star-studded London premiere, they suited up to join their lovely wives, Penélope Cruz and Rachel Weisz. The latest installment in the James Bond franchise is already breaking box office records around the globe. Skyfall made an estimated $77.7 million in international ticket sales last weekend alone. The cast is heading to the States for the North American leg of their press tour soon. They're expected on the West Coast next week, leading into the Nov. 9 US release of the film.

Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem had fun at an interview in Paris yesterday. The Skyfall duo swung by the studio for Le Grand Journal to chat about the latest installment of Bond, and also managed to poke fun at Bond's new preference for Heineken by toasting with two beers. Daniel spoke about Bond trading martinis for beer in October's Vanity Fair. He said, "Product placement, whichever way you look at it . . . it's what it is. Heineken gave us a ton of money for there to be Heineken in a shot in a bar. So, how easy is that? Just to say, OK, there's Heineken. It's there — it's in the back of the shot. Without them, the movie couldn't get sold." Javier and Daniel had a busy day of promotions to do following the Paris premiere of Skyfall on Wednesday night. They linked up with their leading lady Bérénice Marlohe for a photocall at a Paris hotel as well.
