Rooney Mara was there to support her sister, Kate Mara, on the red carpet at last night's House of Cards premiere party in NYC. Rooney wore an all-black Band of Outsiders ensemble, the same outfit she also wore to a special Q&A for her upcoming film Side Effects with Jude Law yesterday. Meanwhile, Kate wore a silver Dolce & Gabbana dress, which she paired with black platform sandals.

Kate stars in the new series — which begins streaming on Netflix on Feb. 1 — alongside Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, who both attended the premiere fete. The political drama follows a ruthless politician, played by Kevin, who makes plenty of enemies as he attempts to win the presidency. The series is based on the hit UK miniseries from 1990. Other celebrity guests at the premiere included Natasha Lyonne, Kim Cattrall, and newlyweds Amber Tamblyn and David Cross.

We're still convinced that she is Samantha Jones (not a bad thing), so it wouldn't be a true birthday celebration without a closer look at her iconic Sex and the City character's wardrobe. Sure, we've salivated over Carrie's city-girl outfits and were smitten with Charlotte's posh Upper East Sider wares, but a lot of the time, it was Samantha Jones's unforgettably sassy style that left a lasting impression. This was one woman who lived for color, statement jewels, oversize hats, and anything else that was particularly eye-catching. We have to admit: Kim knows how to fully commit to a character. She was never afraid to bare more than a little skin and go the distance as Samantha, which is why we're still inspired by her power suits, slinky cocktail dresses, bold costume jewelry, and vixenish heels. Julianna Margulies wore a simple black gown while Kim Catrall went with a bright blue blazer and Solange Knowles mixed things up in a printed look. Naomi Watts wore a sexy strapless Stella McCartney dress to pose on the arm of Liev Schreiber. They recently returned to the Big Apple after a trip to Barbados with their sons Sasha and Kai. Naomi wore a swimsuit and Liev went shirtless to show PDA in the ocean when they weren't hanging out with their boys during the getaway.

SJP skipped the dramatic headwear instead wowing the crowd with all those diamonds. Cynthia kept it simple in black at both events, and Kim shimmered in shades of gold. Kristin was a knockout in red yesterday and kept things fun and flirty today in another knee length gown. The fab four put up a strong fight at the box office but ended up coming in third behind Prince of Persia and Shrek Forever After.
