Kate Hudson, Chris Martin, and Tom Ford were among the stylish attendees at Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop Summer party held at Mark's Club in London today. Gwyneth wore a printed silk dress by Prabal Gurung for the fashionable fete and posed for pictures with Kate, who was clad in a white metallic pantsuit. The two friends have each been staying busy, both personally and professionally — Gwyneth's weekly Goop newsletter is in its fourth year and has expanded to include designer collaborations and the recent launch of city guide apps. She also hit the red carpet for the Met Gala, celebrated big success with the blockbuster release of Iron Man 3, and gave us some laughs with her most over-the-top recent quotes. Kate, meanwhile, is diving into new projects after it was announced that she'll be joining the cast of Zach Braff's upcoming film, the Kickstarter-financed Wish I Was Here.
Matt Damon joined up with his Behind the Candelabra costar Michael Douglas to premiere their new film at the Cannes Film Festival today. Matt also had his wife Luciana by his side and they snapped pictures of all the action as they made their way down the carpet. Matt and Michael are screening their HBO project in the South of France before it officially hits the small screen on Sunday, May 26. Earlier in the day, Matt and Michael attended a photo call and a press conference. They have been doing quite a bit of press for the biopic, which follows Liberace, played by Michael, and his young lover, played by Matt. Naturally, a story about a couple had to involve love scenes, and Michael revealed in a recent interview he wasn't exactly put off by the idea of kissing one of America's best-looking actors. He said, "As far as making out with Matt, it’s not so bad. We rehearsed the scenes. For me, I guess the biggest thrill is, when I first saw it, after a few minutes, I really forget it’s Matt. Matt and Mike, you know? I just forget it’s us."
Matt is in Cannes after wrapping up filming for his upcoming film with George Clooney, The Monuments Men, in Germany. The pair celebrated finishing the film by having a boys weekend at George's Lake Como estate earlier this month.
Alec Baldwin swept his pregnant wife, Hilaria Thomas, off her feet at the photocall for his latest film, Seduced and Abandoned, at the Cannes Film Festival today. The two are no strangers to the South of France as they both popped up at the festival together just last year. Their first trip to Cannes may have been on Alec's mind during this year's photocall as he took Hilaria in his arms to reenact a moment from the 2012 festival when he carried her up the steps of the Palais for the premiere of Moonrise Kingdom. Interestingly enough, the film that Alec is currently promoting is a comedic documentary that follows his experience at the festival that year. Check out Alec's 2012 Palais photo-op and more glamorous Cannes Film Festival moments from years past!
Channing Tatum and his pregnant wife, Jenna Dewan, went on an intimate movie date in London last night. The couple held hands on their way to the cinema, where they caught a screening of Mud. Jenna tweeted that she "loved every second. Go see it! What incredible acting by the two young actors and Mcconaughey." Channing and Jenna later headed out of the theater joking and laughing as they tried to hail a cab home.
Channing and Jenna are currently residing in London while he films Jupiter Ascending. He's been able to get away from the set to hang with Jenna, though, including regular walks with their dogs. They're awaiting the arrival of their first child, who will be born overseas, and after the birth the excitement will just keep coming since Channing's White House Down hits theaters on June 28.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles took a small boat out to a waiting yacht off the coast of France today. The couple was joined by Beyoncé's sister, Solange, and her boyfriend, Alan Ferguson. Their afternoon getaway comes just ahead of Beyoncé's concert in Montpellier, France, tonight. She'll be back on the stage after a day off following her Saturday performance in Milan. Beyoncé's tour may be keeping her busy, but her personal life is also keeping her in the spotlight. Rumors have been swirling for days about Beyoncé being pregnant with her second child, and both she and Jay-Z have commented on the speculation in separate ways.
Jay-Z reportedly shot down the news, responding "It's not true" to a congratulatory email sent by radio host Ebro. Meanwhile, Beyoncé posted and then removed a cryptic message on her Instagram account over the weekend. The quote said, "I can't stop the rumors from starting, and I can't really change peoples minds who believe them, all I can do is sit back and laugh at these low life people who have nothing better to do than talk about me."
It's been a roller coaster of a year for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The latest news coming out over the weekend is that they reportedly split following a tumultuous few months.
