Picture this: DeuxMoi — famed gossip account with two million devoted Instagram followers — is fresh out of the shower. Her hair is wet, and she's cozied up in a plush bathrobe. You can't envision her face, but if you listen to her "Deux U" podcast, then you know her voice. She's the purveyor of Hollywood's juiciest blind items, anonymous tips, nanny drama, you name it. And today, she's ready to test some celebrity-owned beauty products. (Again.)

This time, the assignment is hair care. After posting about the Lolavie Glossing Detangler from Jennifer Aniston's line, her DMs were swarmed with questions about other celebrity hair brands. "It's the holy grail for me of hair products," DeuxMoi tells POPSUGAR. "When I talked about why I liked it, I've never gotten more feedback from people wanting to know more."

There are plenty of A-list options to choose from, after all, including (but not limited to) Jonathan Van Ness's JVN Hair, Tracee Ellis Ross's Pattern Beauty, and, yes, Aniston's Lolavie. Still, the hair space is more nuanced than other categories like makeup or fragrance. When considering products, you have to take into account your individual hair type and texture, and not all formulas are one size fits all.

For DeuxMoi's fine and wavy hair, we zeroed in on one of the more universal subcategories and one that nearly every celebrity hair brand has: leave-in conditioner. As a novice to the space, the mission was to find a formula that's hydrating but not heavy. "I want to be convinced I need a leave-in conditioner, because I don't usually use them. That's the challenge," she says.

In the slides ahead, read as DeuxMoi tries six celebrity-owned leave-in conditioners — noting on texture, scent, packaging, and price point — and spills her unfiltered opinion on each. Welcome to the live testing session.

DeuxMoi Reviews Lolavie's Perfecting Leave-In Conditioner

The Celebrity: Jennifer Aniston

The Leave-In: Lolavie Perfecting Leave-In Conditioner ($29)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "The whole reason I wanted to do this experiment is because Lolavie's Detangler is f*cking amazing. They're different, so I want to see [how it compares]. This one smells really good, like all of her products. It's a bit botanical; I'm getting more of the Rose of Jericho scent than the coconut. You only need a tiny bit because the formula is thick, so a little goes a long way. This has a pump format so you have more control over how much to apply, but if you have fine hair like me, you want to be careful not to use too much. Compared to the detangler, it does feel heavier when I apply it, but in a weird turn of events, I like the way it dried better than some of the other leave-ins. My hair dried a lot bouncier."

Best For: Medium to thick hair types

DeuxMoi Reviews JVN's Complete Leave-In Conditioning Mist

The Celebrity: Jonathan Van Ness

The Leave-In: JVN Hair Complete Leave-In Conditioning Mist ($21)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "First of all, this smells like an expensive hair salon. They are a hairdresser, so that makes sense. You can tell he knows what he's doing. Out of every celebrity here, I would feel most trusting in buying their products because of their background. Jonathan also probably has the closest hair texture to my own — wavy and long but fine — so that's important to note. This one is a spray, which I actually prefer over any other applicator. The only downside is because it's a fine mist, I never know if I'm using too much or too little. It's really lightweight. Too lightweight to combat my frizz, but it's not heavy, which I like. I do like that it's sulfate-free; that's a big attractor for me because I color my hair. To me, this is a good option for someone who wants to dabble in the leave-in conditioner market."

Best For: Fine hair

DeuxMoi Reviews Anomaly's Leave-In Conditioner

The Celebrity: Priyanka Chopra

The Leave-In: Anomaly Leave-In Conditioner ($10)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "The bottle calls out that they spent less on packaging and more on the formula, and it is definitely the most simple of the bunch. The lotion really pours out of the spout quickly. It has avocado and murumuru butter, which you see in a lot of holistic or DIY masks. It smells floral; it's a light scent that's not too overpowering. It's a nice product. I can immediately see the shine in my hair when I use this. A cream is heavier, so I don't know if this one is the best for somebody with fine hair, but I don't see any frizz, and it does make it feel soft."

Best For: Dry ends

DeuxMoi Reviews Pattern's Leave-In Conditioner

The Celebrity: Tracee Ellis Ross

The Leave-In: Pattern Leave-In Conditioner ($25)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "Out of all the products, Tracee's surprised me the most. Because it's a cream, I was expecting it to feel much heavier on my hair, but it's surprisingly lightweight. It still seemed to work on my finer hair texture and didn't weigh it down. Also, when I'm air-drying my hair, I tend to take sections and twirl it around my finger to set the wave. This is the only product that set the curl shape in place when I did that. I would use this for my waves in the summer because that's what I'm looking for — definition. It also has a light hold so you can use it on dry hair, which I love because I get so many flyaways and usually have to use hand lotion. I tried both scents of this leave-in: the original, which smells floral and clean, and the palo santo, which is very light but warm. Both are really nice. I don't know, I have to say: Tracee wins this round."

Best For: Frizz control, curls, and wavy hair types

DeuxMoi Reviews Honest's Calm Conditioning Detangler Spray

DeuxMoi Reviews Honest's Calm Conditioning Detangler Spray

The Celebrity: Jessica Alba

The Leave-In: The Honest Company Calm Conditioning Detangler Spray ($9)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "I've tried [Honest Beauty's] makeup before and liked the products. I know everything in her line is green; this one's packaging says it's good for the planet, cruelty-free, sulfate-free. As a consumer, that to me is very important to call out. It's both a conditioner and a detangler, which makes me think it'd be a good product for kids. A two-in-one. The spray applicator is more aggressive than the others and covers a wide circumference, like a Windex bottle spray. It completely saturated my hair with just a few spritzes. I like the smell. I thought it would be more lavender-y, but the lavender part of it is very subtle. Is it doing anything? I can't tell, but I do like that it feels lightweight in my hair."

Best For: Fine hair types and detangling

DeuxMoi Reviews TPH's Ride or Die Leave-In Conditioner

The Celebrity: Taraji P. Henson

The Leave-In: TPH by Taraji Ride or Die Leave-In Conditioner ($10)

DeuxMoi's Verdict: "This pump looks like a regular liquid spray, but it's actually a lotion that shoots right out. The texture is much denser. It has biotin, spearmint, and ginseng. I'm finding it interesting that none of the products use the same ingredients. This scent is definitely the most unique out of all of them. I'm getting the mint. Hers is the perfect size for travel to keep with you if you're laying out in the sun at the pool or hanging at the beach and your hair is feeling dry; you can just mist this on."

Best For: Travel
