Jonathan Van Ness's hobbies include but are not limited to: gymnastics, ice skating, spending time with their many pets, learning new things on their Netflix show "Getting Curious With Jonathan Van Ness," bonding with their fellow "Queer Eye" costars, and, of course, doing hair. This is all to say he is very busy.

For "Queer Eye," Van Ness almost always gets himself ready before coming to set. "It takes me like an hour, because I have to do my beard, and a blow-dry, and my makeup," they say. Their hour-plus glam routine includes showering, shaving and reshaping their beard, doing their full skin-care routine, and then moving on to makeup.

Van Ness uses the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation ($42) with the Power Play Concealer ($30) for their base. For brows, he loves the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow ($21). They'll also use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer ($28) to add some color to their hairline and around the edge of the face.

Their getting-ready routine is also one of their favorite forms of self-care, so the more time spent pampering, the better.

Van Ness may be a hairstylist, but their passion for skin care runs deep. One of his favorite products is the Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum With Niacinamide ($30). "I'm a big fan of niacinamide as an ingredient," they say. "We also feature it in our JVN Hair Complete Instant Recovery Heat Protectant Leave-In Serum ($28)."

Another favorite is the Tatcha The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser ($36). "That rice powder wash is next level," Van Ness says. "Coming into springtime, because the weather starts to change — I get a little bit sweatier, it's starting to get a little hotter, more humid — I like a little bit deeper of a cleanse."

Their third must have is the Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Highlighter ($28). "It looks natural, but it gives you your bang for your buck, so I love that," Van Ness says.
