Rupert Grint Says He Made Ed Sheeran Up to Create "Real Magic" After Harry Potter

The resemblance between Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran is nothing new (personally, we don't see it, besides the red hair). While we've loved each of them individually for their amazing careers and talents (one blessed us with Harry Potter, the other with Divide), Rupert decided to come clean about what's really going on during a recent stop at MTV. In a hilarious skit with Josh Horowitz, the Snatched actor revealed that Ed actually isn't a real person. He explained that he made Ed up after Harry Potter ended because he wanted to create "real magic," but it's now become too hard to lead a double life. "I created a character," he said. "He had the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair . . . so I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel. I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran. Such a weird name, right?" Before ultimately deciding to still keep Ed around, Rupert also made a hilarious confession about Taylor Swift's cats. Watch the whole thing above.
