Freida Pinto and Dev Patel
Freida Pinto and Dev Patel split in December after nearly six years of dating. The couple first starred in Slumdog Millionaire together back in 2008 and were together as a couple ever since. A source told Us Weekly that "Freida is single and happy."
Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy
Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy called off their engagement in early December. Kate's rep released a statement, saying, "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed coparents." Days later, the Muse frontman tweeted, "Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album." Kate and Matt began dating in 2010, and Matt popped the question in April 2011. Their son, Bingham Bellamy, was born in July of that year. Kate spoke out multiple times about not minding a long engagement. In October, she told Women's Health, "My parents [Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell] aren't married," adding, "They didn't feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed. So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket."
Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks
Singers Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo called it quits in September after almost three years of dating. Sources close to the couple said that their breakup was mutual and that they "still care very deeply for each other and will remain in [each other's] lives as friends." That same week, during an interview with KDWB in Minneapolis, Jason confirmed the sad news but said that everything is "cool," adding, "It's not a bad situation, it's not one of those kinds of things."
Zach Braff and Taylor Bagley
Zach Braff and model Taylor Bagley dated for five years before splitting in April. "Zach and Taylor broke up over a month ago," his rep confirmed to the Page Six, adding, "They are continuing their friendship but are no longer a couple."
Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell
Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell ended their two-year marriage in May. The couple, who tied the knot in October 2012, announced their split through a statement, saying, "Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell have decided to separate. They both love and respect one another and will of course remain committed to co-parenting their son. This is a mutual decision and the two remain close friends." Jamie and Evan are parents to a baby boy, who was born in July.

Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima announced that she was separating from her husband of five years, former NBA player Marko Jaric, in May. John and Katy called it quits for good in February after dating on and off for two years. A source told Us Weekly at the time, "She's stressed about the tour. They've been fighting. It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever. Of course, this happens all the time; I can't keep track anymore. But for now, they are done."
Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas
In June, Melanie Griffith filed for divorce from husband Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage. The couple released a statement through their rep, saying, "We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together." The couple has one daughter together, 17-year old Stella, and Melanie is also the mother of son Alexander Bauer and Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson from her previous marriages.
Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku
Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox dated for five years before literally going their separate ways in June. The actress moved back to her native Boston while Rick, a retired NBA player, decided to stay in LA. Of the breakup, Eliza told The Boston Globe, "Rick's an LA guy and I'm a Boston girl," adding, "I'd rather be a little physically cold here than emotionally cold in LA."
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
After rumors began spreading in August that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's marriage was on the rocks, sources revealed that the couple was "living apart" and that things between them "have been bad for a while." Nick confirmed the split rumors soon after, saying, "There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months." The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2008, just weeks after they began dating. They have two children together, 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald
Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald separated in March after two years of marriage. Big Sean and Naya Rivera
Rapper Big Sean and Glee star Naya Rivera called off their engagement in April amid plenty of controversy. According to Big Sean's rep, the rapper was the one to end the couple's relationship, saying that "after careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off." There were reports that Big Sean had been cheating on Naya, which his rep denied, adding, "The recent rumors and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately."
In July, Naya surprised everyone when she secretly wed a longtime friend, actor Ryan Dorsey, in Mexico. "We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife. Our special day was fated and everything we could have ever asked for," the couple told People. Reports quickly spread that Naya married Ryan in the same location, on the same date, and wearing the same dress as she was planning to wed Big Sean. The rapper has moved on as well; he's currently coupled up with singing sensation Ariana Grande.
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie's split has had many people scratching their heads this year; they announced their separation after three years of marriage in January, and in a statement, Hilary's rep said that the pair "have mutually decided [upon] an amicable separation," adding: "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son and ask for privacy at this time." Since then, they've been spotted out and about together on many occasions, both alone and with their 2-year-old son, Luca. Mike and Hilary's closeness has led to rumors that the two have rekindled their romance, but neither of them have confirmed those reports.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
Another couple that has remained close since their split is Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. They were married for more than 10 years and had two children together when they announced that they were "consciously uncoupling" in March. They are clearly still on good terms, as they took a getaway to the Bahamas with their kids after their split and have had multiple dinner dates in LA. Chris Martin went on to date actress Jennifer Lawrence for a few months, and Gwyneth has been linked to Glee producer Brad Falchuk since August.
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's 20-year relationship came to a close in February. The two had been dating on and off since they were 14 and got married in 2005. In April 2010, they welcomed their son, Julian Fuego Thicke, and they made their last public appearance in late January when they attended the 2014 Grammy Awards together. After the split, Robin made multiple public attempts to win Paula back — he dedicated songs to her during concerts, performed a tune called "Get Her Back" at award shows, and even named his critically panned album Paula.
Joe Jonas and Blanda Eggenschwiler
In early August, Joe Jonas split from girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler after almost two years of dating. His rep said in a statement that "Joe and Blanda have mutually decided to part ways," adding, "The split was amicable and the two remain friends, with great respect for one another."
Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan
In August, Ansel Elgort split from his high-school girlfriend, Violetta Komyshan. The couple had been dating since they met at New York's LaGuardia High School, and a source told US Weekly that "they tried to navigate his commitments, but between filming and press for the movies [it got difficult]."
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb
Sofia Vergara and her fiancé, Nick Loeb, broke up in May. The Modern Family star — who got engaged to Nick in July 2012 — announced the split with a photo posted to her WhoSay account. The note read, "Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have [decided] to be apart." She added, "We have [been] having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and [because] of my work and now his, its been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore." Despite the breakup, Sofia told fans that she and Nick will remain friends, saying, "We are still very close but we [believe this] is the best thing for us right now." Sofia went on to find love with Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello, and the two have been dating since July.
Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas
Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas broke up in April after nearly two years of dating. A source close to Harry said, "He found her too needy, and it just wasn't working out." A week before the split, the two were spotted spending time apart in London, and the split came right before Harry was set to embark on a royal tour of Europe and South America in May.
Ciara and Future
In August, Ciara called off her engagement to Future. The singer, who gave birth to the couple's first son, Future Zahir Wilburn, just three months earlier, reportedly split from the rapper after she discovered that he had been unfaithful.
Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart
After three years of dating, Kelly Osbourne broke off her engagement to vegan chef Matthew Mosshart in January. A statement from Kelly's rep said, "The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another."
