Everything We Know About Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund's "Angel" Son, Rhodes

Following the announcement of her pregnancy in October 2020 (after her mom spilled the beans on Instagram — a recurring theme, apparently), actress Emma Roberts welcomed a son — whom she shares with former partner Garrett Hedlund — sometime in late December.

"The Tutor" actor Hedlund and Roberts were first romantically linked in March 2019, but kept their relationship fairly private. The couple ultimately broke up in January 2022, according to Entertainment Tonight, with a source telling the outlet at the time that their relationship had "been rocky for a long time."

Despite concern about her fertility due to an endometriosis diagnosis, Roberts said as soon as she stopped thinking about conceiving, she got pregnant. "It sounds cheesy," Roberts previously told Cosmopolitan. "But even then, I didn't want to get my hopes up. Things can go wrong when you're pregnant. That's something you don't see on Instagram. So I kept it to myself, my family, and my partner, not wanting to make grand plans if it wasn't going to work out. This pregnancy made me realize that the only plan you can have is that there is no plan."

In a January 2023 interview with People, Roberts said that being a mom can be "really hard" and that she now understands "why moms are always so tired!" She called parenthood a "full time job," admitting, "So I see how for women who have full-time jobs and [are] full-time moms, it's so hard and I have so much respect for them." Luckily, Roberts has another generation to help her: her mother. Said Roberts, "I would die without my mom."
