Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa Reveal Their Son's Name — and How It Honors Previous Generations

Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa's son's name honors all the generations that have come before him. On Feb. 2, the "Flip or Flop" and "Selling Sunset" stars announced that Heather gave birth to a baby boy on Jan. 31. Alongside an Instagram photo of the new parents holding their son, the couple wrote, "Our baby boy is here 🤍 1.31.23 Mama & baby are happy, healthy, tired but doing well. Our hearts are so happy ❤️."

Now, just two weeks later, they've confirmed their little one's name to Us Weekly: Tristan Jay El Moussa. Explaining the background of the moniker, Heather said, "Tarek was supposed to be named Tristan, and his parents ended up naming him Tarek. And then my dad's middle name is Jay. So it's four generations of the middle name Jay."

The couple's big news came after People announced on July 13, 2022, that the two were expecting. "It was a huge shock," Heather previously told the outlet. "We just weren't expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan. I think when you least expect it and there's no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I'm so excited that it happened like this."

Heather and Tarek shared numerous updates about their son throughout the former's pregnancy, including Instagram posts that shared their baby's sex and a first glimpse of him in ultrasound photos. Heather also posted a number of snaps on Instagram showing off her baby bump.

Tarek and Heather first got together in July 2019, and they got engaged after a year of dating. The pair tied the knot on Oct. 23, 2021, in an Old Hollywood-style ceremony in Montecito, CA, surrounded by their closest friends — including Heather's "Selling Sunset" costars Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Davina Potratz, Emma Hernan, Romain Bonnet, Vanessa Villela, and Jason and Brett Oppenheim — and family.

Prior to their relationship, Tarek was married to his "Flip or Flop" costar Christina Anstead for seven years. The reality-TV star filed for divorce in January 2017. He and Anstead share two kids together, Taylor and Brayden El Moussa, both of whom now join Tarek and Heather's growing family together.
