Inside Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes's Newfound Friendship

Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes's newfound friendship is blossoming into something sweet. The new gal pals have gotten close fast since Swift's rumored romance with Travis Kelce seemingly began back in September, which is also when the girls' game-day hangouts started. Luckily for us, we've gotten front-row seats to their bond over the past few weeks.

The "1989" singer, 33, and the wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 28, were first photographed together at the Chiefs's face-off against the New York Jets on Oct. 1. The duo cheered their men on from the stands as they stood next to stars like Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman. However, a source told People that Swift and Brittany also grabbed dinner the day before in New York City with Lively, Swift's other good friend Sophie Turner, and other girlfriends.

"They dined in a private room. Everyone had a blast," the insider said. "They all got along and were just laughing all night over drinks and delicious food."

According to People, Swift also interacted with Brittany during her first appearance at one of Kelce's games, as they spent time together at the tight end's postgame party on Sept. 24.

Since then, Swift and Brittany have been spotted together at other Chiefs games, but on Oct. 22, during the second quarter of the Chiefs's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the pair took their friendship to the next level. Per People, as Patrick and Kelce connected for a touchdown, Swift and Brittany celebrated the moment with a special handshake that involved some hand slapping and hip bumping, which the NFL, of course, caught on camera and posted online. In November, the pair were also spotted out at dinner with some of Swift's famous friends.

Oct. 1: Taylor Swift Hangs Out With Brittany Mahomes at Chiefs-Jets Game

Following their Sept. 30 dinner in NYC, Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs away game with Brittany. Photographers snapped pics of the two during the game along with Lively, Reynolds, and Jackman, who were seated next to them in the stands. As they watched the game, Swift and Brittany's focused faces quickly became a funny meme, as The Athletic NFL's X (formerly Twitter) page posed the question online, "What were Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes talking about? Wrong answers only ⤵️."

Oct. 13: Brittany Mahomes Raves About Her Friendship With Taylor Swift

Game-day buddies Swift and Brittany hung out again at the Chiefs's face-off against the Broncos on Oct. 12. The two cheered for their beaus from the team's suite, even sharing a hug as they celebrated the Chiefs, though the team lost that game.

The next day, a source told Us Weekly, "Brittany is thrilled to be building a genuine friendship with Taylor." The insider also said the two have "hung out a couple of times and have grown fairly close in a short period of time," adding, "Brittany thinks Taylor is so sweet, and down to earth, and they get along really great." Reps for Swift did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment on her friendship with Brittany, and Brittany's reps could not be reached.

Oct. 22: Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes Debut Their Secret Handshake

For the Chiefs's game against the Chargers, Swift hung out inside the Mahomes's suite with Brittany, where the latter also had her adorable 11-month-old son, Bronze, on her hip. Nearly halfway through the game, Swift and Brittany showed off their BFF handshake — which included slapping both sides of their hands together and bumping hips. According to People, another version of it ended with the two doing a jumping chest bump. Per another video posted by the NFL, the duo were also seen laughing and dancing with each other during the game.

Nov. 4: Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes Get Dinner With Swift's Friends

On Saturday, Nov. 4, Swift and Brittany got dinner together at Bond St restaurant in New York with some of Swift's friends: Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Sophie Turner. Swift and Brittany did not attend that week's Chiefs game (which they won), which took place in Frankfurt, Germany.
