Here Is the Definitive Timeline For American Horror Story: Hotel

This is the year that the Countess tells Tristan she was born in.

A flashback on the second episode features Mr. March overseeing the building of the Hotel Cortez. He brutally murders his own construction manager, then proceeds to go on a rampage, before shooting his henchwoman, Miss Evers, and slitting his own throat.

This is also the year that Miss Evers takes her son out for Halloween and he is kidnapped by the Wineville Chicken Coop Murderers.

In "Flicker," we find out that 1925 is also the year that the Countess meets Valentino and his wife in Hollywood.

Episode 5, "Room 33," opens with the Countess visiting the Murder House from season one. She's seeking an abortion from the diabolical Charles Montgomery, but he ends up delivering her demon baby instead. Is it Valentino's baby?

On "Mommy," we find out that Ramona Royale and the Countess meet in 1977, when the Countess takes an interest in Ramona. They become lovers and the Countess turns her.

In the fifth episode, "Room Service," we see that Liz Taylor was once a family man. He goes on a business trip to the Hotel Cortez, where he indulges himself by dressing in his wife's clothes. The Countess helps him find his true identity, saying she can smell that he's a female by his blood. When his rude coworkers see Liz's new look and harass her, the Countess promptly slits their throats.

This is the year the Countess rescues Ren from her father's sweltering car.

After several years, Ramona and the Countess grow apart, and Ramona meets budding rapper Mo. The Countess promptly slaughters him and his whole crew when Ramona turns him.

In "She Wants Revenge," we flash back to 1992, when Ramona goes home to visit her aging father.

During "Battle Royale," we get a flashback to 1993, when Sally brings a couple to the hotel to have a drug-fueled threesome. The couple overdoses while she's physically sticked herself to them. She eventually breaks free, but keeps coming back to the hotel because it's the only place where she truly felt happy.

The premiere flashes back to a moment in 1994 when Donovan and Sally shoot up together. Donovan's mother, Iris, follows them into the Hotel Cortez, but she finds them only after he overdoses. The Countess is sitting with him, and since he's still alive in the present day (and looking exactly the same), it's assumed that she turns him into a vampire. Meanwhile, Iris shoves Sally out a window.

The premiere also includes a flashback to Santa Monica in 2010. The Lowe family is having a jolly time at the fair, until Jon and Alex's son, Holden, disappears. Later in 2010, John Lowe visits the Hotel Cortez for a drink, and it recruited by Mr. March to carry out the rest of his Ten Commandments killings.

This is when the majority of this season is set. Anything that's not indicated as taking place in a flashback likely occurs in the present day.
