We All Owe Netflix Big Time, Because It's Bringing Amy Poehler Back to TV

Just in case Netflix wasn't in your good graces already (aka you're one of the few who still hasn't seen A Christmas Prince) the latest news from the streaming giant should get you excited. The home of women-centric series like Orange Is the New Black, Lady Dynamite, and Grace and Frankie has blessed us with another TV series from the beautiful mind of Amy Poehler. From the few details we already have about it, the untitled comedy sounds pretty damn good.

The eight-episode first season was ordered straight-to-series and will feature your Parks and Recreation fave behind the camera this time around, similar to Poehler's real-life BFF Tina Fey, who created Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Poehler cocreated the show with Leslye Headland and OITNB's Natasha Lyonne, the latter of whom is also set to star. According to Entertainment Weekly, Lyonne will play Nadia, a young woman "on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City." Who hasn't been there?

"So excited to get cracking with the intensely brilliant Leslye Headland, the GOAT with a heart of gold Amy Poehler, and Netflix, the safe haven I've been searching for since the '80s," Lyonne said in a statement. "Deeply moved to work with such heavy hitters and to share our show with the world."
