Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson kicked off filming for Bachelor in Paradise's fourth season with a seemingly innocent hookup which rapidly devolved into a controversy so large it halted production and almost derailed the entire reality series. Although both parties have been cleared of wrongdoing following Warner Bros.'s investigation into what happened, ABC has been busy teasing their drunken-hookup-gone-wrong ever since season four resumed filming. Following an incredibly tone-deaf season four trailer, an extended look at the upcoming season, premiering Aug. 14, features a few glimpses of Corinne wasting no time pulling DeMario into the pool and getting physical as soon as they both arrive at their Mexico resort.
Host Chris Harrison addressed the show's choice to include video of the incident in the premiere, telling Entertainment Weekly that fans will "see more than enough to show you what was happening that led up to the shutdown, within certain taste and values of what we can show on network TV." Despite his claim that the big reveal will be done tastefully, the footage shared in the video above doesn't exactly seem to support that. If anything, it hypes up the unfortunate situation even more.
"Corinne and DeMario are already having a blast, hanging out together in the pool," one contestant narrates, before producers start pulling others aside and shutting off cameras (contestant Danielle Maltby can be heard asking a producer, "Are Corinne and DeMario OK?"). Clearly we won't get a full picture of the situation until the cast of Bachelor in Paradise returns, even though neither Corinne or DeMario will be among them.
