5 Reasons Beyoncé Will Slay as Nala in the Upcoming Lion King Reboot

As a resident Beyoncé superfan here at POPSUGAR, it makes sense that I would be the one to have strong feelings about the news that Queen Bey will be playing Nala in the upcoming Lion King reboot. When I think of a powerful, seductive lioness, Beyoncé is the first person who pops into my mind. Her fierce dance moves and take-no-sh*t female anthems could make even the toughest lion cower. Bey also has a sweet and sensual side, which I believe makes her the perfect person to play a feline queen like Nala. Are you still not convinced? Read on to see five reasons Beyoncé will slay as Nala in the reboot, then check out the rest of the impressive cast.

She has a soothing voice.

In the original 1994 film, it's Nala who inevitably helps save Pride Rock by convincing Simba to return and fight for the kingdom he had abandoned after his father's death. (#RIPMufasa!) With her proven influence on the world, I'm certain Beyoncé will easily pull off being the voice of reason in the reboot.

Who else could tell Simba, "Boy, bye!"?

Simba and Nala's relationship is always playful, even though they fight a few times. Since we've already seen Bey brawl out in another film, the animated fight scenes should be a breeze for her to voice over.

If you don't see it, you might want to get your eyes checked. Just sayin'.

What makes Nala the perfect love interest for Simba is her ability to remain level-headed in any situation. She also never forgets to put family first. Sounds very similar to Beyoncé, if I do say so myself.

She'll slay the soundtrack.

Can you imagine Beyoncé singing soulful versions of Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life"? Yeah, I'm already having eargasms.
