7 Ways Fuller​ ​House Pays Homage to the Original TV Series

The reboot's beginning is just as tragic as Full House's. After losing her husband, DJ is forced to raise her three kids as a single parent. The only difference is that all the genders have been swapped, with DJ having three boys instead of girls and Stephanie and Kimmy stepping in as the new Uncle Jesse and Joey.

The show's creators do a fantastic job at re-creating the San Francisco home we all came to love and cherish. There are even little touches you may have missed like how the pencil bed belonging to DJ's son looks almost identical to the one Michelle owned, with a few modern touches.

Aside from squeezing in a cute Easter egg in the first episode, Uncle Jesse also casually throws out his iconic "have mercy" line. Plus, DJ's adorable son Max adopts one of his own one-liners by using the phrase, "Holy Chalupas!" Too cute!

That's right, Comet is still in the picture — well, sort of. Turns out the adorable Labrador retriever had a family of its own, and now DJ's son is the proud owner of Comet Jr. Jr. Jr., which he names Cosmo T.D. Fuller.

Rest assured, Tanner family hugs are still very present. They are even the punch line of a joke or two throughout the series.

Not only do the teens deal with the typical awkwardness of middle school, but the adults also face their fair share of struggles, too, from single parenthood to infertility.
