Editors' Picks: Entertainment Must Haves For July

July isn't just about fireworks and ice cream; it's also about big-budget movies, Emmy nominations, and Comic-Con! We're gearing up for Summer's hottest month by marking our calendar with the most vital dates — and you should, too! After all, Magic Mike XXL isn't the only film hitting theaters; there's a John Green adaptation, too. Take a look at everything we're excited to see this month, and tell us what you're looking forward to!

Magic Mike XXL
Warner Bros.

Magic Mike XXL

What's not to love about a movie that is pretty much exclusively about bulging biceps (among other bulging things)? If you've been salivating over the Magic Mike XXL pictures and trailer, the best day of your Summer has finally arrived. The steamy sequel is out in theaters on July 1, meaning you'll be arguing about who is the best dancer for the rest of the month.

Terminator Genisys
Paramount Pictures

Terminator Genisys

If you're not excited about Terminator Genisys because of the franchise's legacy, at least get excited to see Emilia Clarke out of Game of Thrones. Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, and Arnold Schwarzenegger all star in the reboot, which is out on July 1. Based on the trailer, an old Terminator is about to learn some new tricks — in a really awesome way.

Comic-Con

Comic-Con isn't just for nerds anymore — it's the Summer's event for anything that's in pop culture right now. Stars from your favorite TV shows like Supernatural and Game of Thrones alight in San Diego to interface with fans, while your favorite movie stars will also show up to give tidbits about films like Mockingjay — Part 2. Don't have your pass? We'll be there to bring you all the news and fun that rolls out.

7 Days in Hell
HBO

7 Days in Hell

Even if you've never watched an HBO sports documentary, you have to tune in for 7 Days in Hell on July 11, the tennis spoof starring Andy Samberg and Game of Thrones' Kit Harington as bitter rivals. So ridiculous, we'll have to watch it twice.

Minions
Universal Pictures

Minions

Kids aren't the only ones who will be charmed by animated sequel Minions — the little yellow guys are just too cute and clever. Plus, Sandra Bullock joins the voice cast as the villain in the movie, which comes out July 10.

Primetime Emmy Nominations

It's kind of crazy to think about the Emmys in the middle of the Summer primetime drought, but nominations are being announced on July 16. That'll give you over two months to make your predictions and set up an office pool for the winners!

Trainwreck
Universal Pictures

Trainwreck

If you love Amy Schumer as much as we do, you should be looking forward to seeing her star as a leading lady in Trainwreck. Directed by Judd Apatow, this raunchy comedy borrows from Schumer's real-life relationships. Bill Hader plays her romantic foil, and he's just one of the many comedians in the movie, out July 17.

Ant-Man
Marvel

Ant-Man

Get ready to meet Marvel's smallest superhero when Paul Rudd plays Ant-Man on July 17. The tiny avenger promises some sillier fun than we're used to seeing in a Marvel movie, and let's face it: Paul Rudd can do no wrong.

I Am Cait

Caitlyn Jenner is the most fascinating person of 2015, and we can't wait to find out more about her life in the new docuseries I Am Cait, out July 26. It'll be the first real glimpse into the life that Caitlyn is making for herself since that Vanity Fair cover rocked our world.

Paper Towns
20th Century Studios

Paper Towns

We're pretty sure that Paper Towns won't make us cry a thousand tears the way John Green's last adaptation, The Fault in Our Stars, did, and that's OK. The teen melodrama starring Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne still has our attention for its mystery and whimsy. We'll be first in line on July 24.

Vacation
Warner Bros.

Vacation

It doesn't matter if you grew up watching the Vacation movies, because as Ed Helms says in the trailer, this Vacation will stand on its own. Helms is taking on the role of grown-up Rusty Griswold, who is determined to take his family (including wife Christina Applegate) on a trip they'll never forget. Chris Hemsworth's sexy appearance in the trailers is already seared into our minds. The movie is out on July 29, and we can't wait to catch up with Clark (Chevy Chase) and Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo).

Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation
Paramount Pictures

Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation

Are you humming the Mission: Impossible theme song right now? The new installment, directed by Jack Reacher's Christopher McQuarrie, brings back Tom Cruise as skilled IMF agent Ethan Hunt, along with Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. This time, Rebecca Ferguson is on board as the love interest/female badass. The trailer, featuring Cruise dangling off the wing of an airborne plane, should be enough to get you sufficiently excited for the July 31 release.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp
Netflix

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp

Wet Hot American Summer is a cult classic, and if we trust anyone to reboot it as a TV show, it's Netflix and creators Michael Showalter and David Wain. A ton of the original stars are returning, plus newbies like Chris Pine and Kristen Wiig. A couple of teasers are out, but we need more! The series will debut (in its glorious entirety) on July 31.
