Editors' Picks: Entertainment Must Haves For March

It didn't take very long for me to get hooked on A&E's creepy series Bates Motel last year, and the show finally returns March 3. Norman and Norma's bizarre behavior and borderline-inappropriate relationship is like a car wreck you can't look away from, but if I'm being honest, it's Norman's hot, conflicted, older brother, Dylan, who keeps me coming back each week. The first season ended on a pretty big cliffhanger, which I won't spoil here in case you want to binge-watch the first 10 episodes on Netflix — as you should.

It's been over two months since Once Upon a Time ended on that game-changing episode, and we can't wait to see what'll happen when it comes back on March 9. What's Emma's new life like? What's happening in fairy-tale land? And most importantly, when will Emma kiss Hook next?

Nurse your Breaking Bad withdrawal with Aaron Paul's first film since the show wrapped. This time, he's playing a badass driver who wears lots of leather, does a ton of cool stunts, and better yet, there's no meth in sight. The fun action flick opens March 14.

SXSW is the mother of all music festivals, and it's not even just about the music. From March 11 to 16, crowds will descend on Austin, TX, for a convention that covers movies, tech, and yes — tons of live music. In addition to all the concerts, we'll be on site to check out the premieres of Veronica Mars and Neighbors — aka that movie where Zac Efron plays a hot frat boy. Doesn't really get much better than that, does it?

Fans of Veronica Mars (aka Marshmallows) have been waiting for a long time, but the wait is nearly over! The highly anticipated movie hits theaters and VOD on March 14, and I'm dying to catch up with all the residents of Neptune. Also, let's face it: I really just want to know if Veronica and Logan rekindle their spark.

Having been one of the many who gobbled up Veronica Roth's Divergent series, I'd been eagerly awaiting the adaptation of the first book starring Shailene Woodley as Tris and Theo James as Four. I recently caught an early screening of the movie, and as a reader, I appreciated the loyalty to the source material and the visual interpretations of the Dauntless compound and fear landscapes. But what I loved was Woodley's skilled performance — and the casting of James, who's about to be the whole world's new crush. Divergent is out March 21.

How I Met Your Mother is coming to an end March 31, and it'll be tough to say goodbye to the slap bet, Barney's words of wisdom, and the five friends we've spent the last few years with. Plus, we'll finally get to find out the mother's name and maybe even see her and Ted together in a real way. It'll be legend — wait for it! — dary.
