Malek gave the wordiest answers, but there's still not a ton to read into. "It never ends up well for Elliot," he said. "We deal with the fallout quite a bit. Obviously you can already see he's conflicted and feels very guilty about what's happened with Gideon, and there's more to come for him. The special thing about the show is we don't live in this fairy-tale land where you can destroy the world's economy and everything is going to be better because of it. Sam has looked at situations all over the world, uprisings and social changes that have occurred that have left power vacuums and left governments and societies in disrepair and that's not something we shy away from. There's this big question of, 'At what cost would you like to affect society and the world you live in?', and what that will be for Elliot remains to be seen, but I doubt that it will be pleasant."
He did all but shoot down the biggest theory that's been brewing about season two: "I think things are a bit more real than people have surmounted so far."
