So Now That We Know How Jack Dies, Who's Next on This Is Us?

The TV mystery of the last couple years has been solved: we now know how Jack dies on This Is Us. Our hearts still hurt, but the show must go on — but one thing we're worried about with this show is that the show will go on to kill another beloved character. Now that we know the series will dabble in flashforwards into the future, we're kinda freaking out about who's next. Yes, everyone on this show will eventually die, we know, but This Is Us toyed with our emotions regarding Jack's death for so long that we think they may rely on this storytelling device. While we hope not, honestly, let's prepare ourselves for the worst anyway and examine which character's death may inspire the next big mystery.

Rebecca
Considering that Rebecca would be in her 80s around the time that we fast-forward to in the Super Bowl episode, it's not crazy to speculate that she may not be around by then. But the show could be planting seeds for her death next — and it could happen soon, in the present-day timeline. We recently saw a flashback to when Rebecca has a cancer scare, so that could be foreshadowing health problems later. Really hoping that Rebecca doesn't go that soon, considering she's the only Pearson grandparent left.

Randall
This one would be cruel as hell (and dumb as hell, too, since Randall is basically the best thing about this show). Still, a theory started circulating around that internet about his death recently, based on a quote from showrunner Dan Fogelman that he wouldn't be killing Randall "this season." Some viewers also started to panic when Randall remarks that he can't picture himself as an old man, but I'd love to point out that he doesn't have to, because we've seen him as an old man — giving him at least 25 more years in this world.

Beth
Which brings us to Beth. Given that that Sterling K. Brown shared that image of Old Randall in a hospital, fan panic set in over that too. Could Randall be picking up Adult Tess alone because Beth is sick — or already dead?! It would be some f*cked-up poetic justice to kill the matriarch of a Pearson family after killing the patriarch years earlier.

Kate
Kate is another character Redditors are all over as they predict her death. However, there's not much to indicate that she's next — it was Toby, after all, who plunged through a coffee table in season one with his own health scare.

Kevin
Kevin's addiction storyline put him in a lot of danger, but for the time being, it does seem that he is in recovery and maybe safe. However, addicts often relapse, and Kevin even tried to get a ridiculous prescription that would have killed him filled. We're more than a little worried that Kevin hasn't made it out of the woods just yet.
