Tyler Alvarez started his Netflix journey with a role as Benny Mendoza, the son of Gloria (Selenis Leyva), on "Orange Is the New Black." He then starred as the fake documentarian Peter Maldonado in the two seasons of the cult hit comedy "American Vandal." Though fans were outraged when Netflix didn't renew the show, that didn't end Alvarez's journey with the streamer. Alvarez appears in season two of "Never Have I Ever" as Malcolm, who ends up dating Eleanor (Ramona Young). Then, Alvarez joined the cast of 2022's "Blockbuster" as aspiring filmmaker Carlos — a role not so different from "American Vandal"'s Peter.
