The title character of The Mandalorian has hidden both his name and his face all season, but both have finally been revealed. The Mandalorian's real name is spoken on screen for the first time in the season one finale, courtesy of new Imperial villain Moff Gideon. So what is our mysterious hero's real name? It's Din Djarin.

Although the reveal is a big deal on screen, it's information that's been out there since the very beginning, if you knew where to look. All the way back in November, actor Pedro Pascal let the name slip in an interview with ScreenSlam. "The Mandalorian — whose real name is Din Djarin — is your iconically cool, flawed, mysterious, loner gunslinger that harkens to the best of the samurai movies and the Westerns," Pascal commented. Of course, at the time, there was no official material confirming the name, so everyone had to do their best to spell it, resulting in a lot of different phonetic spellings. This time, though, there's no doubt about it: the end credits of the season finale confirm that "Din Djarin" is the correct spelling.

This isn't the only major reveal that happens in the episode: for the first time, Din takes off his helmet on screen, revealing his face to IG-11 so the droid can tend to a head wound he's suffered. Although he's still wary of letting anyone see his face — which is why he refuses to let Cara take off his helmet, even though she knows his real name now — IG-11 wryly points out that, technically, he's not a living being and thus doesn't "count." It's a cool way to end the season, giving audiences two pieces of personal information about our hero that we hadn't had up until this point. We don't know how these revelations will play out in season two, but after a season of secrecy, it's nice to be able to put a face and a name to the man beneath the helmet!
