This Incredibly Thoughtful Music Gift For New Babies Will Be With Them Their Entire Lives
Aaron and Lauren Paul seem like the epitome of a "cool" couple — they met at Coachella, they rock a lot of leather (successfully, I'll add), and both exude superchill vibes. So it's no shock that their 1-month-old daughter is already cooler than us and everyone we know. Thanks to the couple's extremely thoughtful friends, Story Annabelle has a new vinyl record collection that could rival any of ours — but that's not all.
In a post to Instagram, Lauren shared a video and three photos of a record player baby Story was gifted by her parents' closest friends, as well as a handwritten journal — titled "Uncle Kenny and Friends Musical Guide to Being a Better Human" — which contains a note from each person about the album they gave her and why.
"Our friend @kennyjamez gave Story one of the most thoughtful, creative, RAD gifts of all time," Lauren wrote. "He had our friends and family choose their favorite album and had each person write a letter to her explaining why the album is special to them and what they hope she will take away from listening to the album they chose. . . So many different artists, who have all inspired and made the people we love FEEL. That's what's so special about music, there's something for everyone. A song or an album can truly define or color a season of your life."
Because Lauren says music is such a "huge part" of hers and Aaron's lives both individually and as a couple, this gift is even more special to her, and she's already imagining Story with each of the albums later in life. "I picture her in her early teens, discovering each album in her own time, later associating each one with different moments and chapters of her life. What a beautiful thing. I'm so excited for her to grow up with these songs and for moments like this, where she is being serenaded while surrounded by the people we love. The people who love her."
Lauren wrote that she "wanted to share this idea because some things are too good not to be passed on" and hopes it'll inspire someone to give the same creative and meaningful gift to someone else.
