Maci Bookout's Miscarriage on Teen Mom OG
Teen Mom's Maci Bookout Opens Up About Miscarrying a Baby Girl — and We Feel Her Pain
In a sneak peek of an upcoming episode of Teen Mom, original cast member Maci Bookout opens up about how she miscarried a baby girl who she she refers to as Dandelion, or Dandy for short. The reality TV star broke the news to producers of the MTV show shortly after discussing her hopes of adopting a child with her husband, Taylor McKinney, and honestly, our hearts go out to them.
The conversation takes off when Maci confesses that she doesn't want to have another baby naturally. But Taylor quickly counters that he wouldn't mind having another little one running around the house, saying, "I love kids and wouldn't be mad about [having another one]."
After Maci suggests that they should consider looking into adopting an older child who's between 4 and 6 years old, the conversation gets heavy when Taylor mentions how easy it would be for them to get pregnant again. A few tense moments pass before Maci cryptically reminds her husband of something, saying, "You're forgetting something . . . Think about it." Without responding, Taylor excuses himself from the table.
When the producers ask about the tense exchange, Maci reveals that they miscarried in 2017. Although Taylor makes it clear that he didn't want to talk about the miscarriage, Maci explains that her experience may be able to help other women going through the same thing. "I think it's important for people that are watching, that we talk about it."
