8 Things to Know If Your Kid's a Sagittarius

Although raising your mini me based on the tendencies of their astrological sign alone probably isn't the best idea, sometimes taking a peek at their horoscope every now and again can actually be really fun. The Sagittarius's symbol, which is an arrow, comes with a slew of awesome personality traits. And while every sign has their weaknesses, parents of a Sagittarius have a lot to be proud of. Here's what you have to look forward to if your little one was born between Nov. 22 and Dec. 21.

1. They'll probably have an amazing sense of humor.

Fortunately for Mom and Dad, people who identify with this sign tend to be big jokers. They find humor in everyday situations and are usually over-the-top hilarious. But as wonderful as it is that your little ones don't take themselves too seriously, be warned that they have huge class clown potential. If you get wind they're acting out at school, be sure to remind them that there's a time and place for jokes, and school isn't one of them.

2. They don't always have a filter.

You know that funny kid who demands to know where babies come from in the middle of the grocery store? Welp, they're probably a Sagittarius, so prepare to answer a lot of awkward questions and get a teensy bit embarrassed when they announce that they "went number two" in public. Luckily, for as mortified as you are, rest assured everyone around you is laughing their tails off at their candidness.

3. They're extremely adventurous.

Sagittarii are game to try anything — whether it's the new rock wall at the kiddie gym or their very first piece of sushi, and this makes for a superfun mini partner in crime. While this is a great trait for children to possess, be sure they don't go overboard with doing anything too dangerous on the playground. After all, nobody likes an impromptu trip to the ER to get a broken arm mended.

4. They tend to be very impatient.

Good luck getting this fire sign to wait for anything, including their turn to try something, and well, you in general. It's wonderful that they're fiercely independent, but they wait for no one, and that can be trouble in public places. Keep an eye on them at the mall and on the playground, as they tend to wander when they're feeling particularly bored.

5. They usually look on the bright side.

Have a problem? Talk it out with a Sagittarius. People born during this time of year are known for their sunny disposition and optimism and don't dwell on bad news for too long. They're known for being fixers and view any challenge as something that can be overcome, no matter if they're struggling with long division or can't quite hit that 3-point shot just yet.

6. Their minds tend to wander.

One of the major struggles of a Sagittarius? Being able to stay focused. Kiddos who fall under this sign tend to have an insatiable wanderlust, but that makes staying on task especially challenging for them. If you catch them daydreaming, don't be afraid to get them to double down and refocus what they're supposed to be doing.

7. They can basically talk to a wall.

Many Sagittarii are known for being outgoing and gregarious, which means keeping up a conversation with total strangers is easy peasy, no matter their age. Don't be surprised if you see them chatting up their playmates on the swings or come home from school reporting that they have a new best friend for the third time that week — they just love people.

8. They're extremely curious.

Those who belong to the Sagittarius tribe are perpetual seekers of knowledge. They're interested in anything and everything, whether it's learning about bugs in science class or the latest chapter book. They're innate explorers and love to learn, so if their extracurriculars seem a little random and all over the place, it's because they are.
