1 Take a Bakery Tour at Disney California Adventure

Every day of the year, your family can take a little behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make all of the themed sourdough bread loaves that are created just for Disneyland! The free tour takes place at the Boudin Bakery at the Pacific Wharf area of the park. The best part about this tour? You get a sample of the sourdough bread at the end! There's no need to register before you get to the park, just walk into the bakery and take the next available tour.

2 Ride in the Front of the Monorail

While both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have monorail systems to whisk guests away to start their vacation, only Disneyland allows families to ride in the very front car of the monorail with the driver! Here you'll get unparalleled views of the park and be able to learn a little more about the monorail system at Disneyland. To be able to ride in the front of the monorail, all you need to do is ask the Cast Member working the line. If there's availability to ride in the front, they'll let you know and lead you there when the monorail pulls into the station.

4 See What's Coming Up From Walt Disney Imagineering

At the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar at Pacific Wharf, families can see and explore what's coming up from Walt Disney Imagineering, check out models of the parks and attractions, and learn what it takes to be an actual Walt Disney Imagineer. This is also a great spot to get out of the sun and cool off on those warm California days. The Blue Sky Cellar is open all day and does not require a Fast Pass or reservation to enjoy. Just walk in and explore for as long as your heart desires.

5 Relax at the Tenaya Stone Spa

Opening in Spring 2020, the Tenaya Stone Spa will be an all-new spa located at Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa. If you're looking for a fun way to surprise your little royal, mommy-and-me pedicures would be a fun afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

6 Indulge in Brunch at the Lamplight Lounge

A new brunch has popped up at the Lamplight Lounge inside Disney California Adventure. The brunch is only served on Saturdays and Sundays from park open until noon. Reservations are highly recommended and can be make through the Disneyland app or online. Our favorite item from the new brunch is the french toast which is made with cinnamon-brown sugar challa, Irish cream whip, maple syrup, and served with macerated berries and a piece of house-made almond brittle!

7 Pilot the Mark Twain Riverboat

The Mark Twain Riverboat has been a Disneyland staple for decades! When your family is ready for a break mid-day, step aboard the riverboat for a tour around the Rivers of America. If you ask a Cast Member nicely before you step on board, you might be able to pilot the boat — and you'll receive a fun certificate to prove you're the captain!

8 Build Your Own Droid

Since Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opened, it's been a popular spot for families to live out their Star Wars story. One thing that your family will love is building your own droid inside the Droid Depot to take home with you. While the experience is a little on the pricy side (it's $100 for each droid unit), it's a great activity to do all together that doesn't get nearly enough hype. Be careful with your new droid as The First Order is always on the lookout for droids to scan for information about The Resistance.

9 See Disneyland the Way Walt Disney Did

If your family is really into the history of Walt Disney and his beloved parks, you're going to want to take the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps Tour. The tour is offered daily at Disneyland Park and takes guests through multiple attractions, letting guests experience the park as Walt once did, as they listen to old stories of Disneyland past, and get a glimpse into Walt and Lillian's private Disneyland residence. To be guaranteed a spot on this tour you're going to want to register on the Disneyland website before your vacation. If there are no spots left, try checking in at the gazebo near the entrance of the park for day-of spots.

10 Rent a Pool Cabana For the Day

All three of the Disneyland Resort Hotels have beautiful pools with cabanas that are available to rent. If your family is looking for a way to relax after a few days in the park, renting a cabana might just be the thing. The cabana spaces are limited, so you're going to want to book these early through the Disneyland website or at the concierge at your Disney hotel.
