She wore this jacket that very clearly reads "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" to board the plane to head to the US-Mexican border. Appalling is an understatement.

Melania Trump accompanied the president for a visit to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting in Oct. 2017 and faced backlash on Twitter over her sunglasses. Users remarked at the inappropriateness of wearing shades at night and even brought up her Hurricane Harvey heels fiasco again.

Melania gave a speech about bullying at the United Nations in Sept. 2017, but that was not what people were paying attention to. Her $3,000 hot pink Delpozo dress was a glaring distraction on stage that prompted social media users to call her out for the over-the-top ensemble.

She chose a $1,380 Balmain shirt when she hosted school children in The White House Garden on Sept. 2017. The pricey top sparked a controversy on Twitter and users called out the absurdity of wearing such a piece while gardening.

During the 2016 election, Melania's Gucci pussy-bow blouse caused a frenzy on social media. She wore it to the second presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, when a few days prior a recording of Trump's vile comments about women went viral.

It was in an Access Hollywood interview with Billy Bush that Trump said, "When you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p*ssy." With this conversation fresh on everyone's mind, Twitter users and media outlets quickly shed light on the possible innuendos of Melania's shirt.

One of the biggest controversies leading up to Trump's presidential inauguration actually centered on Melania. After fashion designer Sophie Theallet urged her fellow friends to resist dressing the future first lady, it ignited a debate within the fashion community. While some designers like Tommy Hilfiger said he would dress Melania, Zac Posen was adamant that he would not.

In the weeks leading up to the inaugural events in January 2017, the question of "Who will dress Melania?" led to rumors that Karl Lagerfeld had created something. On the day of the inauguration, however, Melania chose Ralph Lauren. Her spokesperson said Melania chose Ralph Lauren because he "transformed American fashion." In another twist, a Ralph Lauren source later revealed to Glamour that the brand received backlash for dressing her. "We immediately started to get complaints about Melania Trump wearing [the label]. And people are using the #boycottralphlauren hashtag."

As part of the inaugural events, Melania visited the Arlington National Cemetery. She wore a pair of Gucci sunglasses with her Norisol Ferrari coat. Her black frames sparked outrage on Twitter, where people commented that shielding her eyes was a sign of disrespect. One user didn't hold back, writing, "Melania Trump can't bother to take off her sunglasses when visiting the #TombOfTheUnknowns."

Like the first ladies before her, Melania posed for her first official White House portrait, and the photo was released in April 2017. The size of her wedding anniversary ring quickly drew criticism (it's a 25-carat sparkler), and memes were also created to mock the portrait, for which Melania wore a Dolce & Gabbana blazer.

For her first visit to Saudi Arabia as FLOTUS in May 2017, Melania wore a modest black long-sleeved Stella McCartney jumpsuit with a wide gold Saint Laurent belt and chain-link necklace. Though her look was covered, she received flak for not wearing a headscarf, the traditional religious garment women wear in Saudi Arabia. Melania did, however, cover up her hair for a visit to the Vatican later that month.

For an economic summit in May 2017, Melania arrived in a $51,000 coat by Dolce & Gabbana. Critics of her coat choice saw it as an over-the-top display of wealth and questioned her out-of-touch mindset to how most people live. Meanwhile, designer Stefano Gabbana thanked the first lady for choosing his designs, causing outrage in the fashion industry. This eventually led to the Italian brand mocking its haters with #Boycott Dolce & Gabbana t-shirts.

President Trump and Melania headed to Texas in August 2017 to visit Hurricane Harvey victims. Though she covered up in a bomber jacket, one look at her Manolo Blahnik stilettos and you can see they're not too practical for weathering a storm. Twitter users called her out for being insensitive by wearing such luxe shoes to see those who had just lost their homes and belongings in the flood. To add more fuel to the fire, weeks later, the designer of Melania's heels defended her, saying she wasn't at all "insensitive."
