While Most of Us Were Brunching, Alicia Keys Ran the NYC Marathon

Alicia was all smiles in the week leading up to the big day. She told Refinery29 that she was spending her taper week staying hydrated, eating clean, and sleeping more than usual.

Before the start, Alicia spent some time with the NYC Marathon's grand marshal, Spike Lee. On his Instagram account, Spike shared these words of encouragement, "Run Sista Run."

With the first mile done, she posed with the rest of her Keep a Child Alive crew.

No slowing down as she hit mile 10 in Brooklyn.

During the final stretch in Central Park, Alicia looked calm, focused, and determined.

Alicia and her crew were unbreakable to the end, raising their arms together as they neared the finish line.

Alicia's husband, Swizz Beatz, was there to greet her at the finish line with their first son, Egypt.

Definitely the smile of someone who just crushed 26.2 miles. Congrats, Alicia!
