This is one of the most epic before-and-after transformations we've seen yet. Ian Crombie completed the incredible feat of walking from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail — 2,668 miles, to be exact. "My upper body strength went to my legs. I've got massive ham hocs now. It was hard keeping weight on. I walked 25-30 miles a day and tried to eat 5,000-6,000 calories a day," the man said in a comment-filled Reddit thread about his journey. In total, Ian speculates that he lost 20-30 pounds over the course of almost six months along the trial.

The reason for the months-long hike? The desire to leave day-to-day life for a while and reap the therapeutic benefits of nature. "I'm not running away from anything. But if I've learned anything so far, it's that you don't need a reason to get up and leave, you just have to put it on the calendar," Ian explained. You can see more photos of his journey and learn more about how he completed the hike on his website.
