If the incredible performances from Team USA in the past few days haven't induced enough tears, here's yet another tearjerker for you, courtesy of Nike.

In a powerfully narrated video documenting Simone's childhood until now, Simone's mother, Nellie, describes what it was like to raise the most impressive gymnast of our generation: "Always nonstop energy . . . that's just my Simone."

Momma Biles talks about how gymnastics requires a lot of dedication and how young, "hyperactive" Simone has risen to the occasion in a way that humbles her. "I've seen her from the time she was 6 putting everything into this sport," she said. Yet despite the hard work and drive necessary to get to a gold-medal level, Simone's fun personality is paramount. "If my daughter is acting silly . . . if she's giggly . . . she's gonna have a good meet."

We're more than a little excited to watch this phenomenon take the stage for the individual all-around event today (where she is expected to win gold) — tune in at 12 p.m. PDT during the NBC live stream, or watch it tonight during Olympic primetime coverage!
