Taylor Swift has come a long way since she was 15 with "nothing left to figure out." In fact, she's figured out a lot and is sharing it all with fans. Ahead of her 30th birthday in December, Taylor opened up to Elle about all the lessons she's learned, including some very important notes about accepting her body. In the April cover story, "30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30," Taylor said she "learned to stop hating every ounce of fat on my body," and it wasn't an easy feat.
"I worked hard to retrain my brain that a little extra weight means curves, shinier hair, and more energy," she said. "I think a lot of us push the boundaries of dieting, but taking it too far can be really dangerous. There is no quick fix. I work on accepting my body every day."
Preach! For Taylor, accepting her body includes taking care of it, and taking her vitamins. I love my gummy multivitamins, she loves her L-theanine — to each their own. "Vitamins make me feel so much better!" she shared. "I take L-theanine, which is a natural supplement to help with stress and anxiety. I also take magnesium for muscle health and energy." L-theanine is an amino acid that is supposed to aid in decreasing stress and boosting alertness. It can be found naturally in green and black tea leaves.
Another way to deal with stress? Feeling excited about something. "I make countdowns for things I'm excited about. When I've gone through dark, low times, I've always found a tiny bit of relief and hope in getting a countdown app (they're free) and adding things I'm looking forward to," Taylor said. "Even if they're not big holidays or anything, it's good to look toward the future. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed in the now, and it's good to get some perspective that life will always go on, to better things." So, can we put her alleged seventh studio album on our countdown!?
