Lizzo Put Her Yitty Shapewear to the Test With an Hourlong Treadmill Workout

Pro tip: if you're dreading a workout, spontaneously going live on Instagram can help motivate you.

Lizzo did just that on Aug. 23, admitting to her followers, "B*tch, I need to work out, and I don't feel like working out. . . . I'm getting on this Live so I can get my f*cking ass up and work." She first suited up in a matching bralette and high-waisted shorts from her Yitty shapewear line to prove they're suitable for a workout, even though that wasn't her original intention while creating the collection. "I've been working out in Yitty lately because my other stuff hasn't been comfortable," she noted.

The "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" singer then got on her Peloton treadmill at home and crushed an hourlong walking workout, explaining how she's been working on her stamina before embarking on "The Special Tour" across North America next month.

"A part of my job is keeping a high-energy hour-and-a-half show high energy, so part of my job is making sure that my mental health is together, so I can sing these songs to help other people," she said. "That's why I do this. First and foremost, if I don't work out, I am in a horrible mood, mentally, emotionally. My vibration is low. After I work out, I'm in such a good mood."

Lizzo's broadcasted sweat session turned into a full-fledged show with cameos by superfans, her assistant, and her mom, the last of whom was also on her treadmill at the same time. Oh, and her shorts definitely passed the workout test, despite initial fears that they'd ride up on her legs. "I don't work out in shorts for a bunch of reasons: the friction, chafing, and then the rollup. . . . They have not rolled up," she said halfway through.

You heard it here first, folks. Yitty isn't just made for lounging; it's also perfect for sweating in style — confirmed by Lizzo herself.
