Through goal tracking and journaling my health and fitness progress, I discovered (quite behind the trend, honestly) something called a bullet journal and immediately had a "wait, what??" moment. The bullet journal is an "analog system" (yes, seriously) "to track the past, organize the present, and plan for the future," designed by Ryder Carroll.

First impression: It's essentially a detailed, start-from-scratch approach to a day planner for people who don't find what's out there already adequate enough for their organizational needs. It involves math, rulers, grid papers, and the mental clarity and focus of a Buddhist monk who has chugged two and a half Red Bulls.

However, after reading a bit more, I discovered that a bullet journal is actually an efficient blend of a to-do list, planner, and diary — thus making it way more effective and time saving than I gave it credit for initially — and it can actually be an incredible tool for your fitness journey. Through setting up goals and objectives, marking your to-dos, keeping track of your workouts, meal planning, logging your diet, and journaling your progress . . . all in one place . . . you'll be setting yourself up for success more than ever.

All you need is a blank journal (and honestly, a decent amount of time), but there are some journals that are set up already with grids and a bit of a blueprint for you to get started. There is also a bounty of cute bullet journal accessories that make all of this even easier. We found some supplies to help you get going!
