Popsugar Fitness Instagram Instagram vs. Reality Instagram Pictures The #InstagramVsReality Hashtag Says "F*ck You" to Those Staged Social Media Photos July 13, 2017 by Victoria Messina View On One Page Photo 7 of 14 ADVERTISEMENT () Start Slideshow Instagram VS Reality. Isn't this how it compares most of the time? We show our perfected, most beautiful moments to the world that is cheered on by likes and followers, but we have to deal with the not-so-glamorous-ones all by ourselves - when there is no one to cheer you on when you are feeling depressed, lonely and like a complete failure. When there is no one to comment it's okay to have break outs, be bloated and have "fat-feeling" days. We resort to social media for instant fixes of feeling okay and acceptable again, but the likes-thrill only lasts a few minutes/hours, because there will always be someone with more likes and followers than you. So please, please stop comparing yourself to the unrealistic expectations of Instagram. You are beautiful, intelligent and gifted, no matter the amount of likes or followers you have. NO one can compare to you in the first place: you are a uniquely crafted human being born with the potential to move mountains! If you are feeling down and unworthy at the moment, I strongly advise you to go on a social media diet. Shut it down and rather focus on yourself. You are the most valuable person you can ever invest your time in. There is no self-medication better than self love. But how do I practise self love Marciel!? By being your own best friend and biggest supporter.
