As a plant-based eater, I love snacking on Lärabars. Not only are they vegan, but also they're made with minimal, whole-food ingredients. They're not super high in protein, though, which is why I was so excited to try the new Lärabar Protein bars. Keep reading to find out how healthy they are and how they taste.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Lärabar Protein Bar

Out of all four flavors, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ($7 for 4) looked the most exciting. The ingredients are dates, peanuts, pea protein, semisweet chocolate (unsweetened chocolate, cane sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla extract), peanut oil, and sea salt.

Each bar has 230 calories, 10 grams of fat, 2.5 grams of saturated fat, 140 milligrams of sodium, 24 grams of carbs, four grams of fiber, 18 grams of sugar (including two grams of added sugar), and 11 grams of protein.

The texture of these protein bars was harder and denser than traditional Lärabars. This bar definitely had a deliciously strong chocolate peanut butter flavor. There were small bits of peanuts mixed in, which added to the satisfying texture.

The Almond Butter Chocolate Brownie ($18 for 12) was next on my list to try. The ingredients are dates, almonds, pea protein, semisweet chocolate (unsweetened chocolate, cane sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla extract), cocoa powder, and sea salt.

Each bar has 220 calories, eight grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 170 milligrams of sodium, 25 grams of carbs, four grams of fiber, 18 grams of sugar (including two grams of added sugar), and 11 grams of protein.

This too had a firm texture with a deep luscious chocolate brownie flavor. I liked the bits of almonds that added a crunchy texture.

I wasn't expecting to like this flavor as much as I did. The ingredients in the Apple Cobbler ($18 for 12) are dates, almonds, pea protein, apples, cinnamon, and sea salt.

Each bar has 210 calories, seven grams of fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 120 milligrams of sodium, 26 grams of carbs, four grams of fiber, 19 grams of sugar (including zero grams of added sugar), and 11 grams of protein.

It's sweet and firm, and I loved the crunchy bits of almonds and the strong apple cinnamon flavor. I also loved that there were no added sugars in the list of ingredients.

Lärabar Protein Bars

Overall, these bars are amazing! I became a huge fan at first bite. They're very comparable nutritionally to RXbars, offering just about the same amount of fiber, protein, and carbs for around the same number of calories. But since these Lärabar Protein bars are vegan, they're a great option for those looking to grab a healthy, plant-based snack. I'll definitely be keeping a stash of these in my gym bag and purse.
