Alton Brown's Burger Tip

The 1 Thing You Should Never Put On a Burger, According to Alton Brown

Alton Brown knows the science of a tasty burger, and he shared it with his fans live on Facebook. It turns out, it's not in the seasonings, even pepper! He explained:

"When it comes to grilling burgers, I am a purist. I do not like to add a lot of flavors. What I like to do is buy really good meat. I would suggest you go and have meat actually ground. I go with half sirloin, half chuck. A lot of stores will actually include filet mignon trimmings in their hamburger meat. But if you get really good meat, you shouldn't have to do a lot to it. Salt and pepper is just about it, and to be honest, the pepper is kind of optional."

This is awesome news for anyone who's in charge of the grilling this Summer. Alton essentially gives you permission to spend less time inside prepping and more time outdoors hanging by the grill! For more tips like this, Alton's planning to have weekly Facebook Live videos (every Friday at 1 p.m. EDT), where he answers fan questions like if Good Eats is making a comeback.
