Have you ever been frustrated while trying to grill onions on the barbecue, i.e. they fall through the cracks or break apart when you try to flip them? Worry no more, because celebrity chef Bobby Flay has a supersimple trick for grilling onions that will change your barbecue game. And the best part is, you don't need any extra tools or ingredients!
Whether you like to pile them high on cheeseburgers or prefer to add them to your favorite salads, grilled onions are absolutely delicious. And in order to make sure you cook them just right, Flay suggests keeping the onion's skin on even after you cut it. Just slice the onion, brush each side with a bit of olive oil, and place it on the grill to cook. This helps keep the rings perfectly intact so you get the right amount of char on each side. Once the onion is cooked and ready to go, then you remove the outer skin.
