Heart-Shaped Cookie
Ingredients
2/3 cups unsalted butter
7/8 cups dark brown sugar
3/8 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 2/3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
18 Guittard 72% Bittersweet Baking Discs
Maldon sea salt
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl, set aside. Using a mixer, cream together the butter and sugars. Mix in the vanilla and let combine. Mix in the eggs and yolks, a little at a time, until combined, scraping down the bowl between additions.
- Add the flour mixture in two batches, then mix in the chocolate chips.
- Grease a 10-inch heart pan. Press down cookie dough. Top with chocolate discs.
- Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes (until the edges are golden brown and the cookie is pulling off the edges of the pan).
- Sprinkle with Maldon sea salt as soon as the cookie comes out of the oven.
