Donald Trump has proven that not every president gets along well with his predecessors, but at least some of America's living presidential alumni enjoy a friendly bond. Former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton are (thankfully) part of the latter category, and during a recent visit, they posed for a funny photo that will warm your heart . . . and your feet.
When Clinton went to visit Bush — who was recently widowed and has been recovering from health scares of his own — for their annual get-together, Bush surprised his "great friend" Clinton with some fancy footwear. We're not talking dancing shoes, though. No, Bush wore a pair of patterned socks featuring Clinton's smiling face! It's tradition for the two former presidents to share a laugh over socks during their friendly visits, and the photo from this particular exchange is one of the best examples of former presidential friendship yet.
Going up to Maine and spending time with you is one of my favorite times of the year. Happy to see you. https://t.co/FQTTU7niV9— Bill Clinton (@BillClinton) June 25, 2018
"Going up to Maine and spending time with you is one of my favorite times of the year," replied Clinton when Bush tweeted the photo of his socks. "Happy to see you."
Now, where can we buy a pair of those socks?
