To say Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton got heated during tonight's presidential debate would be an understatement. One moment that stood out? While Trump has famously not released his tax returns — unlike every presidential candidate in the last 40 years — Clinton suggested it was because he "has paid nothing in federal taxes." Interrupting her, Trump rebuffed, "That makes me smart." And there you have it: Trump potentially just admitted to not paying federal taxes and said not doing so means he is smart.
Understandably, people tore Trump's admission apart on Twitter.

not paying taxes "makes me smart," Trump says.
Has a POTUS nominee - a republican, much less - ever before bragged about not paying taxes?
