Melania Trump might have broken her silence Monday night about the leaked tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women, but many were still waiting on Ivanka Trump to comment on the matter. On Tuesday, the 34-year-old daughter of the GOP nominee finally issued a statement to Fast Company.
"My father's comments were clearly inappropriate and offensive, and I'm glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people," she said.
Ivanka's comment comes 11 days after Trump was caught on tape speaking with then-Access Hollywood host Billy Bush in 2005 about how he forces himself on women. Since then, several women have come forward claiming that Trump sexually assaulted them.
In the apology that Ivanka references, Trump admitted to saying "some foolish things" but then attacked Bill Clinton for his own transgressions. Trump has also excused his words by saying they were nothing but "locker room talk."
Throughout the campaign, Ivanka has been a trusted confidant to Trump, advising him on proposed policies concerning women, like his contested maternity leave plan.
