Saturday Night Live Skit "God Is a Boob Man"

SNL's "God Is a Boob Man" Skit Makes Fun of Antigay Laws

"I want to deny basic goods and services to gay people" isn't usually the sort of inspirational speech set to "Fight Song", but there's a first time for everything. In this Saturday Night Live skit called "God Is a Boob Man" — a parody of faith-based drama film series God's Not Dead — Vanessa Bayer plays a baker named Bethany who refuses to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.

Lampooning Mississippi's recent antigay law and satirically stating that "Christians are the most oppressed group in this country," the faux-trailer proudly claims the same production company as Angel in Denim: The Kim Davis Story, a reference to the infamous country clerk who refused to issue gay marriage licenses.

Unsurprisingly, SNL's sketch has received quite a bit of flack from religious and right-wing media, but it has also received an overwhelmingly positive response on Reddit and across social media.
