SNL Trolls Republicans For Not Standing Up to Trump
This week, Saturday Night Live really went there with its latest political commentary. In a nearly two-minute mock movie trailer titled "Courage, Compassion, Country: The TBD Story," the comedy show imagined a world where someone from the Republican party would finally be brave enough to stand up to President Trump's troubling rhetoric and controversial policies regarding refugees.
"A patriot who put country over party, who finally stood up for his nation's founding values. A man by the name of . . . TBD," a dramatic voice-over narrates over a series of news clips that show the country in an uproar. While we never get to see the face of the "conservative who became the voice of a generation," because it has yet to be determined, we learn from a mock Rolling Stone review that the movie is "definitely not about Paul Ryan."
