You Can Buy Google's New Nexus Gadgets Now

Google has unveiled its new line of Nexus gadgets — the Nexus 6 smartphone, the Nexus 9 tablet, and the Nexus Player, an Android TV-based streaming media player — and Android fans can finally get their hands on them today.

The 6 and the 9 will come preinstalled with the latest Android software, 5.0 Lollipop, formerly code named "Android L." The new operating system gives a drastic overhaul to the look and feel of Android with bold colors and a flat design similar to Apple's iOS.

The Nexus 9 and Nexus Player are now available on Google Play as well as Best Buy. The Nexus 6 phone was available for preorder last week, but quickly sold out. The smartphone will be available at Best Buy and other retailers once it's restocked.

Read on for pricing and more details of each Nexus device.

Made in partnership with Motorola, the Nexus 6 gains a much bigger display size over its Nexus 5 predecessor. The Nexus 6 has a 6-inch Quad HD display (bigger than the iPhone 6's 5.5-inch screen) with front-facing stereo speakers intended to give a richer sound to shows or games.

The rear camera has 13MP, f/2.0 aperture, and can capture 4K video. The front-facing camera offers HD calls and 2MP. Each Nexus 6 comes with Motorola's Turbo Charger, which gives the phone a 6-hour battery boost after charging for 15 minutes.

Details on the Nexus 9 leaked last month, and as expected, Google's first new tablet in years is made by HTC and has an 8.9-inch screen. It has a 64-bit processor, 8MP rear camera, and 1.6MP front-facing camera. Available in three brushed-metal colors (black, gold, and white), the 16GB and 32GB models will cost $399 and $479, respectively.

Nexus Player

Stepping into competition with the Apple TV and Roku set-top boxes, the Nexus Player, made by Asus, will let users access Android TV apps and games and watch TV shows or movies through Google Play. Android TV was first previewed this year at Google I/O, which highlighted the ease of voice search when accessing content.
