These Are the Key Game of Thrones Season 7 Filming Locations

Daenerys Stormborn's homecoming needs a dramatic locale, and the Basque Country of Spain is full of cinematic beaches and that astounding walkway leading up to Dragonstone. While the castle itself is CGI, the island of Gaztelugatxe is home to the impressive staircase Daenerys (and later Jon Snow) ascends to reach her birthplace. The beach where she kneels down to touch the sand in the season seven premiere is another Spanish location, Itzurun Beach. Meanwhile, the cliffs where Melisandre and Varys have their unsettling chat in "The Queen's Justice" appear to be in the cove of Muriola in Barrika.
