Ankle-strap sandals are our favorite footwear for Summer — and we can see that the celebrity world agrees! Everyone from Julianne Hough and Lauren Conrad to Diane Kruger and Reese Witherspoon has donned the minimalistic style with their latest warm-weather ensembles. Ankle-strap sandals come in a variety of colors, but the most popular are white, nude, and black because they go with just about everything. What we love so much about the easy dual straps is that, unlike strappy sandals, they never compete with your top half. Ready to get your ankle-strap sandal on? Head inside to see how to work the trend for an entire week.
It was a week filled with excitement for stars, between red carpets, award shows, and Summer siorees. Cameron Diaz and Naomi Watts stepped out to show their support for Stella McCartney at her Spring presentation garden party in NYC, while pregnant Kate Middleton made a stylish final public appearance before maternity leave to christen a Princess Cruises ship in the UK. Brad Pitt brought his son Pax along for a trip to South Korea, and Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper reunited for a laugh backstage at the Guys Choice Awards in LA.

Coach held its annual Summer bash on the High Line in NYC last night, and naturally, celebrities flocked to the fashionable scene. Who was in attendance? Katie Holmes, Naomi Watts, Connie Britton, Chrissy Teigen, and many more stylish celebrities. Watch on for all the fun details. On Allison: BCBG Max Azria.
Katie Holmes, Naomi Watts, and Anna Kendrick teamed up at Coach's Summer Party on the High Line in NYC yesterday. The three women were joined by Nashville star Connie Britton, Revenge's Joshua Bowman, and model Chrissy Teigen as they mingled with New Yorkers at the park. Katie is currently filming her new project, Mania Days, in the city, and she caused quite a stir on set a few weeks ago when she was spotted filming love scenes with costar Luke Kirby out in public. Meanwhile, Naomi has been playing social butterfly in the Big Apple while her longtime love, Liev Schreiber, finishes up filming for his new project, Ray Donovan, in LA. Naomi hit up Stella McCartney's Resort 2014 presentation with friends Cameron Diaz and Kate Bosworth on Monday and joined forces with Sienna Miller at a charity event last week. She has big news to share today as the new trailer for Diana, her film about the life of Princess Diana, was released online.
Last night, Coach took over NYC's High Line for its annual Summer carnival shindig — complete with a dunk tank, jugglers, and a fortune-teller, not to mention a whole slew of celebrities in warm-weather outfits perfect for inspiring whatever you've got on your own datebook this weekend. Katie Holmes picked a pure white, Chloé one-shoulder dress, while Naomi Watts continued the casual look in a pale pink See by Chloé shirtdress and Irene Neuwirth jewels. Connie Britton kept it equally breezy in a blue skinny-strapped style. It was Anna Kendrick who went a different route, opting for a rocker look by pairing skinny jeans with a printed blouse and leather vest. Which outfit do you plan on copying?
Want to see if Naomi Watts can pull off playing Princess Diana? The Oscar-nominated actress takes on the royal role in the upcoming biopic Diana, and the first teaser shows a hint of footage, but no dialogue yet. The movie is set to follow her from 1995 to her tragic death in 1997. It will focus on her relationship with Dr. Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews) after her divorce from Charles, her humanitarian works, and her campaign against landmines.
It's interesting to see Watts as Diana, not just because of their physical resemblance, but because I really think she's going to be able to pull off Diana's presence. Hopefully we'll hear Watts speak in the next trailer, plus a bit more about the story, but for now I'll settle for watching this on repeat. The movie doesn't yet have a US release date, but be sure to catch the teaser after the jump.
Stella McCartney got major star support at her Spring 2014 collection presentation at Jefferson Market in NYC yesterday. Cameron Diaz, who is a close friend of the designer, stepped out for the garden party alongside other fashionable faces such as Naomi Watts, Julianne Moore, and Anna Wintour. Madonna and Amy Poehler also showed their love for Stella, sharing hugs and snapping selfies during the fashionable soiree that withstood the NYC rain. Also on hand to check out the designer's Spring designs were Kate Bosworth, who was accompanied by her fiancé, Michael Polish, and Liv Tyler, who had her dad, Steven Tyler, by her side. Kate and Michael even shared a bit of romantic time during the event, which she revealed on her Twitter account. She captured a picture hugging her beau with the caption, "Loved up with Michael Polish at the Stella McCartney party today."
Since Cameron has been stationed in NYC for her latest project, she was able to show her love and support for her longtime friend Stella, whose designs she wore along with Kristen Stewart at the Met Gala last month. Cameron has been busy on the Big Apple set of her new film, The Other Woman, but she headed East to the nearby Hamptons for a fun day of shooting last week. Cameron showed off her legs in a short sweater and let loose with a glass of wine while filming scenes with her costar Taylor Kinney in the beach community.
At last night's Up2Us benefit in New York, our eyes were drawn to two fashion-forward blondes: Sienna Miller and Naomi Watts. While the stars appeared to be sitting at opposite ends of the style spectrum upon first glance, a closer inspection reveals some similarities. Sienna looked ready for Summer in a fresh white sundress and pale pink ballet flats, while Naomi was dressed in a sophisticated look we could see at the office: a leather pencil skirt, studded black blouse, and professional pumps.
Totally different, right? Not so fast. The eyelets on Sienna's dress were echoed by the grommets of Naomi's skirt, and both women were playing with dimension. Rather than go with a traditional, uniformly sized eyelet, the holes on Sienna's dress vary in size as they move from the top of the shoulder and down the chest. And the oversize studs on Naomi's top was a surprising, unique touch, especially when worn with rich mahogany leather.
Two things the same, but not at all — which would you rather wear?
Sienna Miller teamed up with Naomi Watts at the inaugural Up2Us benefit gala in NYC yesterday. The look-alike stars posed together on the red carpet for the charity, which aims to stop violence through youth sports programs. Erin Heatherton also attended the event, which took place at the Tribeca Rooftop. It's been a busy week for Sienna, who has been staying in the city with her fiancé, Tom Sturridge, after his play Orphans closed on Broadway last month. She joined Tom at the Theater World Awards in the Big Apple on Monday and she'll host a screening of her new film, Just Like a Woman, at the Crosby Street Hotel today. Sienna's new project is slated to hit theaters on July 5.
