The British royals had some of the most hilarious moments of the year. Although the family is known for being prim and proper, they certainly know how to let loose, have fun, and crack a few jokes. Queen Elizabeth II quipped about her age (even though we're kind of expecting her to live forever), Prince William took a walk on the wild side when he rode a motorcycle — probably to Kate Middleton's dismay — and Prince Harry became friends with a puppy while greeting a crowd. Even little Prince George and Princess Charlotte got in on the action with a few of their adorably comical antics at weddings.
We're looking forward to seeing even more good times among the royal family next year. But for now, let's take a walk down memory lane and look back on the moments that made us laugh out loud and wish we were in with the regal crowd.
The prince and a pesky bee had an onstage showdown at Prince Charles's 70th birthday celebration at Buckingham Palace in May.
At the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's May wedding, Charlotte gave a camera a silly face, which was pretty reminiscent of a young Harry.
Savannah bravely took on the role of "cousin in charge" when she silenced a laughing George at Trooping the Colour in June.
At Prince William's charity polo match in June, Charlotte and her free-spirited self frolicked in an open field. Ah, to be young.
About a week after she shushed George at Trooping the Colour, Savannah gave him a shove during Prince William's polo match. Poor George was sent sliding down a hill but appeared to be OK. Just cousins messing around with each other, right?
Prince William couldn't seem to hold in his snickering during a service that celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force in July — and Kate caught him in the act.
Charlotte, who already bosses around older brother Prince George, kept the press in check back in July.
The prince took the stage following the show and belted a swift note before busting up laughing with the cast and audience.
The look on his face when he's caught on camera is priceless!
During a trip to Sussex in May, Harry couldn't help but pet this puppy and give its face a loving squeeze.
Kate tried to show off her artistic skills while visiting a Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in October, but William teased that he wasn't impressed.
But just like the true royal she is, Charlotte recovered and kept things moving at the October event.
Everything at their October wedding seemed to go smoothly, but this little setback still made for a funny moment.
George's facial expressions were absolutely everything and more.
This little guy was so excited to see Meghan and Harry during their October visit to Dubbo, Australia, and he was completely enamored with Harry's facial hair.
During an October trip to Melbourne, Australia, Meghan and Harry watched a demonstration of how 3D printed cars work. As soon as they took off, Meghan let out a little yelp, giving everyone a nice laugh.
OK, we're not necessarily laughing at this girl crying uncontrollably, we're laughing at the fact that this would be all of us if we met Harry, too.
While speaking to reporters during his Australian tour in October, Harry helped one of the interviewers shoo away a fly, except he added some flair to it.
While greeting fans in Australia during an October visit, Harry heard a group of people serenading him with the song "Stand by Me," which was performed at his and Meghan's wedding ceremony. The prince then did a soft sway and grinned as they continued to croon.
While visiting Australia in October, Harry and Meghan came across hundreds of adoring fans — one being a man who gave Meghan a gargantuan bouquet of flowers. When Harry saw the massive floral arrangement, he walked over to the guy and joked, "You can't give flowers that big to my wife. What's that all about?" However, it was all in good fun, and Harry gave the guy a thumbs up as Meghan graciously accepted the gift.
While Harry was giving a speech at Fraser Island in October, a woman in the audience yelled out, "You're better-looking in person." The Duke of Sussex appeared to get a little flustered before responding, "I'll take that as a compliment." Props to that woman for speaking facts.
On the first day of the Invictus Games in October, Harry received quite the greeting from an American sailor who totally broke royal protocol by giving the prince a hug so big that he lifted the regal redhead right off the ground.
The Duchess of Sussex couldn't contain her delight while she watched a college choir sing a funny tune about warding off mosquitoes during her stop in Tonga in October. Although Harry also found the song funny, Meghan was cracking up just a bit harder and even appeared to wipe away tears of joy.
During a visit to New Zealand in October, Meghan and Harry came across a fan who resembled Meghan. However, when someone pointed it out, Harry had the best comeback, saying, "There's only one person that looks like my wife." What a guy!
Those who are familiar with the Prince of Wales know he has a particular love for animals. So it was hardly surprising that he talked to a turkey during BBC's Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70 documentary, but it was still so hilarious.
While giving a toast at the November bash, Elizabeth subtly roasted her son's age. "My mother saw me turn 70, of course," the queen said. "And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out." When we say Elizabeth is such a queen, we really mean it.
