We Finally Know Once and For All Whether Melissa McCarthy Will Be on the Gilmore Girls Reboot

At this point, Melissa McCarthy is to the Gilmore Girls reboot as the Olsen twins were to Fuller House. Will she be on it? Has she even been asked? Will we ever know what's become of Sookie? A new interview has shed some light on the situation, but here's what's been going on.

First, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino told TVLine that she reached out to McCarthy's camp. Then, McCarthy tweeted that "no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow." But just recently, she popped up in an Instagram with her former Gilmore Girls costar Yanic Truesdale!

In an interview with E! News, McCarthy said that she's not coming back. "I don't think I am. I didn't actually get asked to do it. But I think they thought I was busy, and then by the time it did come up, then I actually was . . . I'm actually thrilled that it's happening. I loved that show, and I think the fans for that show are super loyal and great and I will watch every single one of them."

Most recently, McCarthy made an exclusive announcement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she will be returning. Woo hoo!
